A PDF Splitter (also called a PDF page extractor) separates a multi-page PDF into individual pages or extracts a specified range of pages as a new, smaller PDF file. This is one of the most common document manipulation tasks in office environments, where large PDFs need to be broken into targeted, shareable sections without recreating the document from scratch.
Sharing only relevant sections: A 50-page annual report is sent to you, but a colleague only needs the financial tables on pages 22–28. Extracting those 7 pages creates a focused document that's easier to review and share.
Reducing file size for email: Email attachment limits (typically 10–25 MB) are frequently hit by comprehensive PDF documents. Splitting out the needed sections reduces the attachment to a manageable size.
Separating combined scans: Many office scanners automatically combine all scanned pages into a single PDF. When a batch scan includes documents from multiple people or multiple categories, splitting is necessary to file them correctly.
Portfolio creation: A designer or consultant's comprehensive work portfolio needs to be split into category-specific sections for targeted client presentations.
Confidentiality: Sharing only the relevant non-confidential pages of a document that contains sensitive information on other pages.
Form submission requirements: Some application systems require attaching specific documents separately ("Upload bank statements: pages 1-3" and "Upload salary certificates: pages 4-5").
The UtilsGo PDF Splitter uses the pdf-lib JavaScript library to process your PDF entirely in the browser. You can specify individual page numbers to extract (e.g., pages 2, 5, 7) or a contiguous range (e.g., pages 8–15). The resulting PDF preserves the original page dimensions, content, and formatting. Since all processing happens locally, sensitive legal, financial, and personal documents never leave your device.
Specify exactly which pages to extract using flexible range notation (e.g., 1-5, 7, 10-15).
Your PDFs are processed entirely in your browser. No document content is uploaded or stored.
Download all split pages at once as a ZIP file for convenient access.
